The Milburns at play

We went bowling tonight. Some of us are not THAT good of bowlers, but we went anyway.

Dylan started us off. Notice that we did not get a lane with the bumpers, yet. So we played a game anyway.
He was feeling pretty good about this, until.........

Life is hard without bumpers.

Now it is D'Kota's turn. No he is not ducking so he won't hit his dead, he's lining the ball up.

But if you will look to the right of this picture, you will see that even with that wonderful line up, the gutter still gets cleaned.

Now for the pro of our little group. Eric always gets a higher score than his shoes size or age.

Of course by now, we have the bumpers, but Eric doesn't need them any how.

Dylan can really wing that ball down the lane huh?

He got into this one a little TOO much. But he did get most of the pins down!

Now when I was in High School, we took a class during PE all about bowling. We went to the bowling alley and had someone show us how to do it correctly. Notice the form and the line up of the ball. I got an "A" in that class.

Too bad sometimes knowledge does nothing for ability. I can REALLY use those bumpers to my advantage. This is not funny Dylan!!
Eric learned that if D'Kota goes first and then him and then me and Dylan last, our names spell DEAD. Ain't he funny?
This is what a cool teenager that is hanging out with his parents looks like.

It turns out that even D'Kota is better with the bumpers and he is not too proud to be proud of it.

Now I must explain this photo. All the years of me being behind the camera and taking photos when people did not know I was taking pictures of them, has come to bite me back. I have a couple thousand or two photos of football and wrestling refs butts and about double that number of Eric's butt. Which has embarrassed D'Kota to no end. Many of the football players and wrestlers over the years have even noticed that I enjoy taking photos of Eric's butt (not the refs, they just get in the way). So as I was downloading these photos tonight, I noticed this one and knew it was Eric's way of getting revenge on the threat of me making a wall sized poster of pictures of his butt. Too-shay my dear, too-shay.

This photo is in here so that I can point out what happens when your fry your hair from dead to plum dead. Try not to notice the big butt, but the cute curls in the hair that last FOREVER!

Is he bowling or skipping?

SO EXCITED ABOUT BOWLING!!!!

Here we have the Pro again. Notice the beautiful form (and yes, the line up of his body and the ball, snicker snicker, you guys thought I was talking about the line up the first time didn't you? I was talking about his body! LOL)

It was a strike by the way.

I found the little hair dryer in the middle of the ball return. I love that thing. I only wish it was as strong as those new hand dryers they have in the bathrooms that make your skin move. OK, maybe just my old skin, but they are fun anyway.

Bowling is fun!!! Specially when you go with us!

Winter in Weiser

Poor Dylan had a snow day the first day of December. He looks like he is really in pain here doesn't he?
There is a hill at the football field and Dylan had a ton of fun. So did I, taking photos of him and a lot of kids sledding down the hill.

There was one Dad that piled up some snow so there was a ramp. I almost wet my pants on some of the kids going over it.

I love the look on this kids' face as he goes over it and leaves his stomach behind him.

And some of you may know that it is wrestling season again and D'Kota has lost a little weight and is no longer wrestling kids that are not only two classes ahead of him but about 20 lbs heavier. Look at the guns on him! You can also see what his weight is. Only wrestlers proudly display their weight on their arms.

Now I want you to notice the boy in the back to the left with the Mohawk. D'Kota will wrestle him next and he is watching to see where D'Kota's weakness is.

He discovers his only defense is to knee him in the eye.

Which he does. A nasty black eye, blurry vision, and a couple of X-rays later, we discover that the boy has not broken his face. Only bruised it real good. He tells me his face hurts and because I know he is not in the mood to joke with me, I control myself from saying "it's hurts me too!"

Today I decided to take my camera out and take some pictures of the Weiser community pond and look what I found!!

A VICIOUS, wild dog!!! Watch out! This goofy dog hates water but loves snow. Dylan tries to explain to him that snow IS water but Rufus lives in his own little world of denial.

This is a beautiful park with a fishing pond and a couple of BBQ pits for people. It is just as beautiful in the summer.

It is right off the Weiser River and just adds to it's charm.

Here is Rufus after he discovered that he is bigger than he thought cuz he thought he could walk on thin ice. He quickly discovered that after he was shoulder deep in cold water. He can jump REALLY high. Here he is laying down and trying to get his heart from thumping so hard and fast.

Minutes before the chilling incident.

Amazing what the Lord can with water huh?

Beautiful place.

Don't give up little branch!!

I see the mouse tail like limb wrapped around the tree but do you see the snake to the right of the picture? It looks like it was climbing down the tree when the temperature dropped and it was frozen in place.

This is about the moment I realized that the snow I was standing on, and the water going under the bridge are at the same level. I don't think I could jump up out of the water as fast as Rufus did. End of little trip.
